Team selection and eligibility

Middlesex County Fencing Union enters teams into two inter-county competitions each year: the South East Quadrangular (Middlesex, Surrey, Kent and Sussex), and Excalibur, in which teams from twelve counties compete over the course of a weekend in Bath.

Middlesex team fencers from 2000 to present.

To be eligible to fence for Middlesex you must either:

Fence at a club located in Middlesex.
Reside in Middlesex.
Fenced for the county previously (i.e. historical continuity)

Eligible fencers are considered for selection by the county captain, who takes into account the following indicators:

performance in competition at club / county / university / open and international level
recommendations from club captains and county coaches.
